Sweetheart Yarn

I finished the lovely pink, merino/tencel yarn! It’s a surprisingly consistent yarn, except for one point about a quarter away from the end when it changes weight. Apparently I started it spinning a lot thinner and forgot. Ah well. It happens.

Right There! I Can See It!

Look what is showing through my once-enormous pile of turquoise fiber.

I Can See The Bottom!

This is all I was able to make before running out of purple locks to stick into the thin single.

Actually, I’m rather glad I ran out. It was getting a little tiring. I have a few chunks of badly felted locks left, but they don’t look as pretty as the ones in the yarn. That enormous skein on the end was what I got done yesterday. Oh, by the way, all the stuff you’re seeing here are things I got done yesterday. It was late when I got around to winding things down, so I didn’t get this up until now. I shall try to be better about that.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

I’m definitely behind schedule today. Christmas cookies took up the morning, and I was tired the rest of the afternoon. I did, however, play around with a little of the red cookie dough. Here’s my three-ply, peppermint yarn ball!

All Spruced Up

I must say, this yarn has grown on me. When it arrived in roving form I was a bit skeptical of its turning out well. It’s a heathered blueish-green. Very deep and rich in tone, but with a hint of gray. (For fellow spinners, this is the Ashland Bay “Mountain Meadow” top. Drafts well, and spins up nicely. I got mine from Copper Moose. In other places it might be listed as “Blue Green Colonial Top.”)

Three Skein Wonder

The forest tones Northern Lights yarn is officially done. Eight ounces turned into 469 yards of light worsted weight beauty.
