Mad Dash

I think all the Christmas in the air is getting to me. Or maybe it’s the thought of New Year coming up. However it happened, I am now officially jumping off the deep end. I’m going to attempt to spin all of this . . .

Voila

Voila

. . . before January first.

You read that correctly.

It seems like the perfect time of year to finish up the old and get ready for the new. Although I didn’t quite know how much old I had to finish up. That’s three pounds, seven and two-eighths ounces of miscellaneous spinning projects I’ve let stack up. And New Year is ten days away. That’s over five and a half ounces a day!

I don’t want spinning to completely dominate the rest of this year, so trying to get it all done might be too stressful. But getting most of it done would be nice.

My first question would be, about how many ounces would be “normal” for you to spin in a day? I know that depends on how thick you are spinning it, but I’m just asking for a rough estimate.

Also? The blue fiber looks like cotton candy–good enough to eat!

With my standard “three-ply, light worsted” yarn, I think the most I’ve spun in a day would be . . . oooh, I don’t believe I’ve ever kept a record. I’m guessing that I’ve done four ounces in a day, but that was after spending most of the afternoon on it.

I’ve got a huge range in yarn weights for all those projects, so I figure it will even out.

I just love the way the blue turned out! It makes me want to squish it whenever I see it.
