A Brief Interlude

Despite the progress I’ve made on the Rebecca wool, I don’t think I can get it all ready to go in the next two weeks. I’m up to nine spindle-fulls, though!

So, I decided to take a quick break from Rebecca and tackle the Gawain batt. When I say tackle, I’m not referring to the usual meaning of attacking with a half-hope of succeeding. gawainclose In this case “tackle” means a general rush of adrenalin and happy endorphins as I dive onto the gorgeous mound of luscious fiber and, in spite of all restraint, squish it in a giant hug before running to the wheel as fast as my two feet can go.

And, if you haven’t guessed by now, I’m rather excited. This is the only fiber that has told me I’m taking it home. I don’t think I’ve ever had something grip me like it did. Let’s all hope the yarn turns out well!

Can’t wait to see it spun and plied!
And once again I made the mistake of following a link on Ravelry, and once again I’m sending it to you. These wheels are just so cool and so beautiful, I couldn’t help just goggling at the beautiful workmanship. I also goggled at the stratospheric prices, but at least I could appreciate them as works of art!
